"Smack in the middle" of the Gaslamp Quarter and a short walk to the convention center, this "user-friendly" property builds loyalty with its "chic decor", "trendy, recently remodeled" rooms (with "free WiFi!") and an "accommodating" staff that makes it comfortable to "travel with kids"; but those in search of solitude complain about the all-night "clanging of the bells" from nearby trolleys and are further distrubed by "so-so" dining options.

The valet parking was $35.00 a nite.
The hotel was nice and I got a good price. But I couldn not believe the valet parking at $35 a nite. I could have parked in a public lot for less.

The lobby was ugly.
This hotel was very good for my business trip, good location, comfortable room. My only complaint is that the night stand lamps were too tall to turn on and off while lying in bed.

Small showers and the bath products were sub-par.
Hotel was positioned nicely in downtown San Diego. Within walking distance to great restaurants and local sites, but Valet parking was outrageous. $35 a night.
